Celebrating Canal with Bolivar "Bo" M. Fraga

In honor of our 30th Anniversary, we sat down with Bolivar "Bo" M. Fraga, New Hope Housing HACDC Board Member, to discuss the Fraga Family’s shared legacy in Houston’s Second Ward / East End neighborhood.

The unwavering support of community members, like Felix, Nellie, and Bo Fraga propelled our vision to create affordable housing on 2821 Canal Street – home to New Hope’s second studio efficiency apartment community for formerly homeless and at-risk adults.

As the city's economic needs expand, New Hope remains, filling the gap for long time residents being priced out and effected by economic instability. We've made a permanent home in the heart of the East End, and we have our community to thank for it.
